Bringing the local community together

Big Local SW11 (also known as BLSW11) is all about bringing the local community in the SW11 and Battersea area together. Hand in hand with Battersea Alliance - a collaboration of community organisations in Battersea - BLSW11 aims to create a community where you can...

Strengthening Our Community Together

When people feel isolated, it can harm their well-being and mental health. The Battersea Alliance is working to prevent this by building strong community connections.

In 2019, Big Local SW11 launched Battersea Together to unite individuals, community groups, and organisations to reduce isolation and loneliness. This led to the formation of the Battersea Alliance, a partnership of five community organisations: Providence House, Caius House, Carney's, St. Peter's Church, and Katherine Low Settlement. Together, we’ve raised over £600k and supported 30 community groups to tackle these challenges.

Our next step is creating the Battersea Together Community Investment Fund. This fund will help grassroots organisations by providing funding, sharing resources, and fostering collaboration.

See the film below which shows how the Big Local SW11 is planning to transition to the Battersea Alliance post-September 2025.
