About Us

Big Local SW11 is a Big Local project. This means that the National Lottery Community Fund identified SW11 as an area that could benefit from funding and an organisation called the Local Trust allocated £1m money to the SW11 area. A partnership of volunteers was then formed to manage the funding to bring the community together and to create opportunities for this area.

In 2019, BLSW11 formed the Battersea Alliance – a collaboration of community organisations in Battersea – to extend the support to people living and working across Battersea.

We work with local residents and organisations to make decisions about how we can improve our community.

Our focus is to reduce isolation, loneliness, and poor mental health by creating a community that you feel a part of.

Our BLSW11 community

Did you know around 10,000 people live in the Big Local SW11 area?
Check out the map to see if you live in this community.

Our projects and activities are mainly to support people living in this area which is made up of a group of neighbourhoods north of Clapham Junction station.

If you don’t live in this area and live in Battersea, please still contact us as we always try to support and engage with people living locally.

OUR MEMBERS

Currently we have 12 people who live in the BLSW11 area or locally who are committed to supporting the community in deciding how they want to improve life in the SW11 area.
