Dream Garden SW11 – Selected by the Mayor of London as one of the 26 most innovative civic initiatives London 2018

Christ Church CE Primary Battersea has been selected to receive a £30,000 pledge from the Mayor of London. This learning outdoors project will create a beautiful, bespoke learning space bringing people together through a range of innovative activities.

The project aims to forge stronger links with our local community; Big Local SW11 has given the school £10,000 to develop this work. Local people will be able to come and benefit from the space. Training will be an important part of the project with the opportunity to become more skilled in a range of areas e.g. healthy eating, cooking, planting, garden maintenance and storytelling.

Chelsea Gold Medal garden designer Cleve West has given his time to work with pupils incorporating their ideas into the new garden. Wholefoods Market also donated £2,000 to buy a much needed greenhouse.

We are very grateful to ISG who are supporting the garden working with supply chain partners, Rochfords and MSK. This will support the first phase of site clearance and ground preparation ready for the development of the new garden project.

There is still £7,060 to raise to reach our goal and create this bespoke garden that will be used by the school and local community go to: https://www.spacehive.com/dream-garden-sw11 if you can help.
