Wow Mums Intergenerational Chinese New Year

Big Local SW11 support the Wow Mums Intergenerational Project in our Community.

Last Monday was their Chinese New Year celebration. Wow Mum Jeanette Wickham cooked some Udon noddles, spring rolls, and everyone made their own aromatic crispy duck pancakes with plum sauce, cucumber and spring onions. The food was really delicious.

Everyone enjoyed learning about the Chinese new year story and finding out what was inside the fortune cookies. After desert, they did some karaoke and that was a great eat with some of the ladies from Haven Lodge.

Wow mums intergenerational is still going strong after 5 years of volunteering in this project and the children have developed strong ties with the pensioners.

It was a very nice trip organised by Donna Barham, chair of Kambala Residents Association. Big Local SW11 funded the place for the Wow Mums and the Haven Lodge residents intergenerational project.
